Al Weaver studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, with his first paid theatre work playing the titular Prince of Denmark in Trevor Nunn's 2004 production of Hamlet at The Old Vic Theatre in London. Weaver shared the role with Ben Whislaw, performing in the play for all matinee performances and on Monday evenings.

Soon after this he was snapped up for a range of film and television work. On the big screen, he can be seen in the Al Pacino starring version 'The Merchant of Venice' (2004), videogame adaptation 'Doom' (2005), and the Sofia Coppola directed 'Marie Antoniette' (2006).

On television, his work includes 'The Inspector Lynley Mysteries' (2004), 'Viva Blackpool' (2006), 'The Devil's Whore' (2008), 'Personal Affairs' (2009), 'Sherlock: The Blind Banker' (2010), all four parts of 'The Nativity' (2010) and a prominent roloe in Secret State (2012).
