Amelia Bullmore originally began acting onscreen in the long running British soap opera 'Coronation Street' in 1990, but left the profession in 1995 to take up writing in 1995. She contributed screenplays to the television series 'This Life', before returning to the screen in the comedy series 'Big Train' in 1998, which she also wrote scripts for.

Since then, she has appeared on television in series including the now classic BBC mini-series 'State of Play' (2003), starring John Simm, David Morrisey, Bill Nighy and James McAvoy; 'Ashes to Ashes' (2008), the sequel series to 'Life on Mars'; police drama 'Scott and Bailey' (2011), which also starred Rupert Graves; 'Twenty Twelve' (2011), an award winning comedy mockumentary about the preparations for the London 2012 Olympic Games, and 'Sherlock: The Hounds of Baskerville' (2012).
