Rosalind Halstead's primary training is in dance, training from an early age for five years at the Central School of Ballet in London. She began performing onstage at the age of eight. At the age of thirteen she was spotted by the Select Modelling Agency and led a career as a model for several years. She first appeared onscreen in the film 'Mrs Henderson Presents', which starred Judi Dench, Bob Hoskins, and Kelly Reilly - who portrays Mary Morstan/Watson in the Guy Ritchie directed 'Sherlock Holmes' film series.

Her other television credits include the ITV adaptation of 'Wuthering Heights' in 2009, the BBC comedy 'How Not to Live Your Life' in 2010, and in 2011 filmed her role as Irene Adler's 'assistant' Kate in 'Sherlock: A Scandal in Belgravia', which was broadcast in early 2012.
