D.I. Carter has never heard of Sherlock Holmes, although
apparently, he's just about to meet him.
A body of a hiker has been found with a bashed in head, but if
you're thinking gunshot, there wasn't one. He wasn't shot; he was
killed by a single blow to the back of the head from a blunt
instrument, which then magically disappeared along with the
killer.
This is Carter's case, it's entirely up to him, but D.I.
Lestrade from Scotland Yard has given him a bit of friendly advice;
he said to give this Sherlock Holmes five minutes on his crime
scene. He suggested he listen to everything he has to say and as
far as possible, to try not to punch him.
Less than two minutes of speaking with this Sherlock Holmes over
Skype and he understood exactly why Lestrade added that last
pointer.
Anyway, Carter thinks it was the driver. Calling the police and
consulting a detective? Sure sign of guilt, as he's clearly just
trying to be clever and is over confident...
Only, now this Holmes guy is on about looking in the stream!
What's in the stream? If anyone has any further information on the
driver, or indeed, what relevance the stream has to the case,
please contact D.I. Carter at the Surrey Constabulary.
