Known for being just a little sarcastic, especially to those who
he really shouldn't like Daily Mail reporters, Lestrade is the best
that Scotland Yard has to offer. A Detective Inspector, he is at
the top of his game, or rather he would be, were it not for a
certain Consulting Detective he knows and often goes to when it's
one of those funny cases he likes.
Lestrade's known Sherlock Holmes for five years but still
doesn't know him (he also seems to have lost an alarming amount of
I.D. in that time, should those two facts be linked?) They share a
mutual respect for one another being he is the only detective
Sherlock will call when he has to involve the police, if there's
time, although Lestrade isn't afraid to set up a pretend drugs bust
to bully Sherlock when he withholds evidence.
Despite this, Lestrade thinks he's a great man, and one day, if
we're very, very lucky, he might even be a good one. He puts up
with him because he's desperate, although he would prefer Sherlock
didn't have to text "Wrong!" to all the reporters' mobile phones
during their press conferences.
If anyone could tell Lestrade how he's doing it, he'll stop it,
as unfortunately it makes them look like idiots. So, if you have
any information on this, please call him at New Scotland Yard.
