If you were looking for John Watson, and you knew the signs, you
would probably be looking for a man with a history of military
service, nerves of steel with strong moral principle, and a crack
shot marksman acclimatised to violence… oh,and a Doctor.
John's therapist says he has "trust issues". He isn't the kind
to make friends easily yet despite being advised to stay away, he
chooses to befriend and trust Sherlock Holmes of all people almost
from the onset of their first meeting. The next day he had moved in
with him and they are now solving crimes together.
As a doctor, John, and he will tell you this himself if asked,
is very good. Having returned home from serving as an Army Doctor
in Afghanistan after being shot in the left shoulder, he now works
as a GP at a local surgery. Should you wish to book an appointment
with him, expect him to be running late as he is prone to falling
asleep at his desk after he and Sherlock have had a late one on a
case.
Dating John can be a bit dangerous and certainly not something
for the faint hearted. A typical night out on the town with him
could easily include wrestling a few Chinese gangsters and it may
be a bit of a challenge to get him all to yourself without his flat
mate tagging along too. Unless he's been kidnapped of course, as
chances are, you may well have been kidnapped along with him.
John went from having nothing happen to him, apart from the
occasional row at ASDAs with a chip and pin machine, to being
trench deep in the battlefield that is criminal London. John has
chosen a side and that is irremovably at Sherlock's. He recounts
his most recent experiences and has written up their cases on his
blog which you can read along with all of Scotland Yard at www.johnwatsonblog.co.uk.
