Without doubt the most popular and recognisable of all locations associated with the series, North Gower Street doubles as the exterior of Baker Street. Flat 187 is the doorway in question, to the immediate left of the cafe.

During filming, the flat door is removed and replaced with the famous 221B, but the exterior of the cafe remains unchanged in the final series - though the frontage was altered in the Pilot episode to Mrs Hudson's Snax. Following completion of filming on Series two, the 221B door is now a permanent fixture outside, complete with the distinctive door knocker and letterbox.

Interiors for 221B in up to Series Three  were filmed at Upper Boat Studios in Cardiff, a BBC Wales production facility that officially closed in 2011.

To visit the iconic front door, take the Underground to either Euston [Victoria, Northern], or Euston Square [Circle, Hammersmith & City, Metropolitan].

From Euston, exit via the main entrance and turn immediately right, walking across the zebra crossing on Melton Street and all the way down Euston Street. Speedy's is immediately at the end of the road, to your left.

From Euston Square, exit from the Euston Road entrance and turn right, and then right again onto North Gower Street. Speedy's will be on your left - hand side.
