Exteriors and Interiors for The Lucky Cat Emporium were shot on
location in Newport, Wales. 183 Upper Dock Street was completely
transformed for its appearance onscreen, with a repainted shop
front and fully stocked interior. The shop is currently occupied by
Glamour and Glitz.
Upper Dock Street itself was also decorated with strung Chinese
lanterns, and the green bollards on the street disguised to match
the red decor of the actual Chinatown in central London. Filming on
the street lasted five days in April 2010.
The closest mainline railway station is Newport (South Wales).
On exiting the southern side, cross the road and head directly
opposite down the High Street. At the bottom, turn left onto
Skinner Street, and then left again onto Upper Dock Street.
