The boarding school attended by the Bruhl siblings, Max and
Claudine, is actually the Grade I listed Tredegar House, situated
in Newport, Wales. Located in the 90 acres of Tredegar Park, the
mansion was completed in its current form in 1672, though the
earliest surviving part of the building dates back to the 1500's,
when it formed a smaller manor house. In its original form the
building was constructed from stone, but the rebuild saw the
importing of red brick, a rare material in the area in the
17th Century, and indicative of the wealth of the
landowners, the powerful and renowned Morgan family.
Tredegar House has appeared on television in the cult horror
drama 'Being Human', as well as numerous uses in Doctor Who since
that series' return in 2005.
Tredegar House is just two miles west of Newport city centre.
