St Woolos Cemetery‎
Bassaleg Road
Wales, NP20 3PY

Sherlock Holmes is buried beneath a tree in a quiet corner of an anonymous cemetery, somewhere within London.

In reality, the moving final scene of The Reichenbach Fall was filmed in St Woolos Cemetery in Newport in Wales. The tree which Sherlock's grave is situated under is north of the western chapel at the Bassaleg Road entrance to the site, just off one of the paths that wind throughout the graveyard. The gravestone was placed there just for filming - in reality, there are no plots beneath the tree.

St Woolas Cemetery has also appeared in 'Doctor Who', most notably the Steven Moffat scripted 'Blink' in Series Three, the episode that saw the debut of his most terrifying creation for the series - The Weeping Angels.

The closest train station is Newport (S Wales) Station, but the Cemetery is a good distance away, requiring the use of another vehicle. Bassaleg Road is one of the main roads through Newport, heading west out towards the M4 and the A467.
