Sherlock LEGO reaches target! Sherlockabilia Shop Now Open

Sherlock LEGO reaches target! * 22 September 2013

If you've been following Sherlockology on our social media accounts for the past few weeks, you'll be aware we've been supporting a Sherlock LEGO concept set of the 221B Consulting Room on the LEGO Cuusoo ideas website.

The concept exists at present in two different scales, along with a full range of LEGO mini-figures of Sherlock Holmes, John Watson, Mrs Hudson, Jim Moriarty, Molly Hooper, DI Lestrade and Mycroft Holmes.

Created by Flailx - real name Peter Hale - the set has rocketed up the LEGO Cuusoo supporters 'chart', and has today reached the required target of ten thousand votes from website users - with the final votes coming in at such a sudden speed the Cuusoo website briefly went offline under the strain! The concept will now go to review by the team at LEGO to check the feasibility of its creation as a real LEGO set for sale on store shelves in the future.

Congratulations to Peter for creating the concept that captured the imagination of not just Sherlock fans, but also caught the attention of Sherlock's producer Sue Vertue, who has been enthusiastic about the set from the instant we first posted about it on our Twitter account, and has made it clear to us how much she would like to see the set become a reality!

Though not yet confirmed by LEGO themselves, it surely ranks as one of the fastest concept sets to achieve the target of ten thousand votes. First posted on August 27 2013 by Peter, the set reached the required total in a mere twenty six days - a testament to the power of Sherlock fans!
