Abbey Road is a custom model railway built by John Polley. It is based on a fictitious split level station somewhere in north-west London. Trains frequently arrive & depart from the station much like the real underground, passing beneath the station road over-bridge before disappearing out of sight into tunnels.

On Abbey Road itself are familiar high street names including a McDonalds restaurant, Marks & Spencer & Tesco Metro. The layout was specifically designed & built for exhibition display and is, in fact, two layouts in one. Both the high & low level twin tracks are completely separate from each other and are controlled independently allowing more trains to run.

The Sherlock production team hired the Abbey Road layout for use onscreen in The Empty Hearse. While the layout itself is not for sale, you can purchase the model rolling stock of the type that appears on screen from the Metromodels website.
