DI Lestrade carries a Glock 17 in the final scene of The Hounds of Baskerville. It is one of the most commonly available handguns in the world. Manufactured by Glock Ges. M.b.H in Austria, it is a preferred model amongst law enforcement worldwide - in the United States alone, 65% of the national police forces use Glock's firearms.

Lestrade uses a third generation model of the firearm, distinguished by the increased ergonomics on the grip from the second generation model seen in Irene Adler's apartment. Lestrade's gun is also a little more showy than the standard model - the top slide of the pistol is made from stainless steel, giving the weapon a two tone colour.

As with all handguns seen onscreen in Sherlock, private ownership is strictly prohibited in the United Kingdom under the Firearms (Amendment) (No. 2) Act 1997.
