Irene Adler's striking and dramatic shoes are a pair of Big Stack 120 pumps, made by French designer Christian Louboutin. Made from black leather with an almond shaped toe, they feature a huge 120mm heel and the trademark red soles of every Louboutin shoe design.

Christian Louboutin is credited with the revival of the stiletto shoe in the 1990s. He opened his first shop in Paris in 1991, receiving Princess Caroline of Monaco as his first customer and generating widespread media attention as a result. Other famous clients include Diane Von Furstenburg, Catherine Deneuve, Jennifer Lopez, Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow. His single biggest client however is the novelist Danielle Steele, who reportedly owns over 6000 pairs of his shoes. The company has over forty boutiques worldwide, including eight stores around the United States, four in Paris, four in Japan, two in London, and two in Dubai.
